Cosplay is not just an ordinary thing to do. Someone call it weird but it's a special fashion statement. As of the moment, a lot of Filipino fans that includes this generation consider cosplay as an alternative to bring themselves up on the public behind the costumes that they're portraying. For this day, we will be featuring one of the Filipina cosplayers that really catched my attention as a cosplay enthusiast and her name is MJ Angeles.



We plotted some templated questions for the cosplayers to answer all of that and here's our question and answer portion with MJ Angeles



1. Introduce yourself to the readers by stating your Full name, your birthday and your location.

2. Do you have some cosplay gig(s) to attend? If ever that you're going to attend a cosplay event, what character are you gonna portray?



"As of now i'm waiting for a big event and plan to cosplay Rin Kagamine of Vocaloid."



3. Past characters that you've cosplayed?



"I already portray Haruhi Suzumiya and her black uniform version, Mokou from Touhou Project, Oerba Tyun Fang of Final Fantasy 13, one of lolita costume, Maya Natsume of Tenjou Tenge and Maka Albarn of Soul Eater."

4. Do you have any experience of joining a cosplay contest? If yes, what are those cosplay events that you have joined?



"Yeah. it will be a century if I mention it one by one but I always attend ozine, otaku expo. etc."



5. Of course, it's time for promoting yourself up by giving your Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites that you have right now.



"I don't have Fan Page and I'm not using my Twitter and Plurk often."

Touhou Project: Hakurei Reimu

Also known as the "Shrine Maiden of Paradise", Reimu is the shrine maiden of Hakurei Shrine, a remote building set on the overlap between Gensokyo and the human world. She is naturally talented, but because she hates training and is somewhat lazy, her skills are only on average level. However, she has a strong sense of duty towards Gensokyo, and can therefore overcome any obstacle through sheer perseverance.

I didn't realize how popular Touhou Project truly was until recently... Particularly Reimu since there are two cosplayers so far who chose this character in Winter Comiket 2009! Not that anyone is complaining, of course, since she's such a cute character! And she's in all of the Touhou games with the exception of Touhou 9.5.

She is characterized in the games by her homing amulets and yin-yang orbs. She is also featured in the games wherein ZUN is involved, notably Seihou: Shuushou Gyoku as one of the Extra Bosses and in Graffiti Kingdom as "Flying Maiden".

Touhou Project: Izayoi Sakuya 02

The only human living in Scarlet Mansion, Sakuya is the head maid who serves Remilia Scarlet. She specializes in cooking, knife throwing, and time manipulation, which possibly makes her older than she looks.

Another awesome cosplayer from Winter Comiket! I’m wondering if those knives are real. I mean, they look real, but conventions don’t allow dangerous items as props nowadays, right? In any case, thanks to the Fluffy Guy for sending this in!

Touhou Project: Izayoi Sakuya

There's always a fair amount of French Maid cosplays in Anime Conventions that I find it hard trying to keep up with all of them.

She looks like she's cosplaying a specific character with the details she put into her hair and the straps on her leg. I'm wondering if that clip on her apron was also done on purpose. Compared to the other French maid cosplayer I feature a while back, I think she'll be easier to guess.

Any takers?

Touhou Project: Cirno

She is the stage 2 boss of Touhou Project, the ice fairy that lives on the lake surrounding Scarlet Devil Mansion. Don't let her cute looks fool you, as her hobbies include freezing frogs and watching them revive as they thaw out. That is, if she doesn't shatter them to pieces first.

Awesome cosplay... and it would be nice to see the Hiiragi Tsukasa and Hiiragi Kagami's photos too, if anyone has it?

Touhou Project: Onozuka Komachi

A shinigami who doesn't seem to take her job seriously, Komachi is often scolded by her boss, Sikeiki Yamaxanadu for her poor performance. She is the counterpart of Greek Mythology's Charon, Hades' ferryman, as she guides the souls of the newly deceased across the Sanzu River. Her attacks come in the form of holed coins, as these seem to be the payment the souls need to move on from the world of the living to the world of the dead.

She's a little too adorable to be working as a ferryman- or ferrywoman, if she prefers that title. Maybe that's why she doesn't take her job very seriously? Cute cosplay though!
