Death Note: Mihael Keehl aka Mello

An orphan who grew up with Near and Matt in Wammy's House, Mello was one of the candidates to become L’s successor. When it was decided that he should work together with Near in order to succeed L, however, he refused and decided to pursue the Kira Case on his own. Although Mello is quite intelligent, he has a tendency of letting his emotions get the better of him.

Death Note: Ryuzaki L. Lawliet, Yagami Light, and Amane Misa

This photo has been labeled as one of the most popular deviations of all time on Deviant Art. It’s easy to see why as the cosplay and the setting is superb, but a lot of people who became jealous of this popularity gave the cosplayers a hard time.

This is one of the reasons why I don’t allow hateful comments on Cosplay Holic. I do let constructive criticism slide in once in a while, but most of the time, I delete them. Cosplayers work hard on their cosplays, and it’s all for fun. It’s not something that should be taken too seriously.

And yes, everyone, please get it straight, Yagami Light’s cosplayer in this shoot, Jin Joson aka *behindinfinity, is a girl.

Taiwanese Cosplay…… NOT!

If I label these as taiwanese Cosplays I think the Taiwan Cosplayers might arrange an assassination for me hahaa. But that aside, I wanna share this group of videos of a Taiwanese variety show with you guys.

What’s happening here is basically, a group of normal girls who are in some sort of semi-idols competition for the show are requested to cosplay. And then a panel of Otakus are requested to judge them. The winner (the girls I mean), will win a set of cosmetic products.

Honestly, in my opinion, I don’t really want to consider this as ‘cosplays’ because of the lack of love and fandom effort which I have grown so accustomed. But I guess the cruel fact is, anyone donning a costume IS a cosplayer. AT least they bothered to do up the hair and make up. Albeit some of the hair is so *palms forehead*

 

I like Sailor Mars here. Pretty xD. As for the Suzumiya…..she’s a  little too..subdued for my liking =( And don’t get me started on the hair.

But nonetheless, pretty faces yes =)

Wooo the neko girl is pretty IC.

Can any Chinese speaking fan of Code Geass tell me if what the cosplayer/girl said is true? About C.C’s quote that has something to do with snow.

Death Note: Matt

Mail Jeevas, who is more commonly known as Matt, performs espionage work for Mello. Little is known about this character aside from the fact that he doesn't care much about the real world and likes to play video games. He acts as an accomplice to Kiyomi Takada's kidnapping and is shot dead by her bodyguards. He smokes a cigarette with his last breath, leading to the speculation that he might very well be a chain smoker.

Quite an impressive cosplay of Matt. I'm not sure what the watermark "NadesicoRock" means, but I do hope that's the cosplayer's alias. Thanks for sharing this wonderful work!

Death Note: Yagami Light 02 >

Light is a third year high school student who attends Daikoku Gakuen and attends supplemental classes at Gamou Prep Academy. His life changes completely when he happens to find the Death Note, a shinigami's notebook that has the power to kill the human's name written in its pages.
Having been fed up with the crime and corruption in the world, Light uses Death Note in order to become the God of the New World, killing criminals without laying a finger on them.
Pretty impressive Light! I've still yet to watch this anime, but I do remember I have the live action movie DVD somewhere. Great cosplaying!

Death Note: Near

The youngest of L’s 2 successors, Near is level-headed individual who displays a series of odd behaviors very similar to L. He was raised in Watari’s Wammy House, an orphanage in Winchester for gifted children. He shows great respect for L and follows in his footsteps carefully; often using L’s methods to solve a crime and taking on only the cases that interest him.

I love how the photography turned out for this. The cosplayer really looks like Near. Very nicely done!
